And The Ayes Have It!

Well, I guess Complete Care Chiropractic won! Thus will we forever be named. I came up with the name in a moment of inspiration and all along Adam was against it, but he couldn't come up with anything himself. He found the other names from various Chiropractors around the world, so he decided he wanted a vote from the "people" and the "people" picked me. Thank you, thank you!
Enough with the silliness. Family First and Complete Care were our top choices all along, but after the voting we decided Complete Care probably is the best name for us! Thanks to all who voted--it's been fun! We're picking out paint color today and hopefully we'll be completely moved in by Friday. Don't worry I will make sure and have my camera handy for the whole process! We are so excited! Wish us luck!!

It's time to pick a name!!

I have added a poll at the side of our blog. PLEASE VOTE!! We are really excited to get things rolling on our practice and the name is a very important decision, so we are enlisting your help! Let us know what you think and if you have any other suggestions, questions, concerns, or advice let us know! We really could use all the help we can get.
P.S. We will be including "Wellness Center" at the end of the name as well.

Half-Staff

I didn't realize it was Patriot Day until I was driving to preschool and I noticed one of the flags I drive by everyday was half-staff. It took me only a moment to figure out the reason why. I then turned on the radio because my favorite station always commemorates this day with patriotic songs and stories. I almost had a tear in my eye as I sang "American Soldier" with Toby Keith. I have so many memories from this day seven years ago, and I hold those memories so dear and so close. I love this country and know that Heavenly Father chose for me to live here for a reason and so I hope to only bring this country honor as so many other people do like the "American Soldier". I Googled Patriot Day just to see what I could find and I loved the description from Wikipedia. It excited me to see that the vote to dub September 11th as Patriot Day was unanimous. I hope we can remember this day when all Americans stood together to defend our freedom.

Patriot Day

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the United States, Patriot Day occurs on September 11 of each year, designated in memory of the nearly three thousand who died in the September 11, 2001, attacks. Most Americans refer to the day as "Nine-Eleven (9/11)," "September 11th," "Nine-one-one," or some variation thereof.

U.S. House of Representatives Joint Resolution 71 was approved by a vote of 407-0 on October 25, 2001. It requested that the President designate September 11 of each year as "Patriot Day." President George W. Bush signed the resolution into law on December 18, 2001.

Initially, the day was called the National Day of Prayer and Remembrance for the Victims Of the Terrorist Attacks on September 11, 2001.

On September 4, 2002, President Bush used his authority created by the resolution and proclaimed September 11, 2002, as Patriot Day. He has continued to make similar declarations every year since.

On this day, the President directs that the American flag be flown at half-staff and displayed from individual American homes, at the White House, and on all U.S. government buildings and establishments, home and abroad. The President also asks Americans to observe a moment of silence beginning at 8:46 A.M. (Eastern Daylight Time) marking the first plane crash on September 11, 2001.

Some countries have also shared Patriot Day with the U.S. as well.

Epiphany

I just wanted to share with you an epiphany I had about raising Wes today. Now that he has reached true toddlerhood he does not like help with anything and it has become very difficult to get him to do things, like get in his car seat. As I was struggling with him for a minute I started to tickle him and said, "if you don't get in your car seat I'm going to tickle you!" That's when it hit me...Wes loves to be tickled! So then I said, "If you get in your car seat I'll tickle you!" Whalah! He jumped in his car seat and giggled with glee as I tickled him! Gotta love this guy!! :)

Update

I've had a couple of complaints of my blog being only about Wesley. I just wanted to apologize, but when you have a kid this cute it's hard not to focus on him. Especially when the only other news you have is not so good news.
Things did not work out for Adam and the job we thought he had. The Doc in Granite Bay was just a flake. He kept saying how badly he wanted Adam on his team, but he had a different idea in how that was going to happen and we just couldn't go along with his terms. So after much prayer and thought, Adam will be opening up his own practice. We have just begun with the process, so it will take some time for everything to work out. In the meantime, Adam has been working for my dad, which means going out of town a lot. For the last 3 weeks he's been gone at least 4 days out of the week. It has been hard on Wesley and I. Especially since I started a job at California Family Fitness. I am working 4 nights a week, on top of the 2 days of preschool with my sister. Life has been pretty crazy, and then to add to all of that, we had to move into my parents house last weekend, which works out though, since Adam has had to be gone, my mom has been able to watch Wes while I work. I really just can't wait for this phase of our lives to be over. And I thought Chiropractic school was a challenge!
Well, that's about it on the updates. I'll try to be better about letting y'all know what's going on. Adam plans on having some choices of office names when he gets back, so maybe we'll have a vote to help us decide. Just so you know, my idea was Complete Care Chiropractic. But don't let that sway your vote! :)
Now, on to my favorite part of blogging...Wesley!

Our First Day of Preschool!

Preschool started on the 2nd of September for my sister and I. We have 2 cute little kids right now, plus Wesley, of course. We hold it every Tuesday and Thursday mornings and it has been a blast so far. This picture from the first day is just hilarious! It shows all 3 of their personalities, especially Wesley's--he just watched what the older boys do and imitates everything he can. And I can't believe how much he is learning already. I wasn't expecting much out of him since he's a whole year younger than the other boys, but yesterday, while we were waiting for the other 2 to come, he walked right up to our chalkboard and started making circles and said, "CIRCLE"! (That's our shape for the month) I just couldn't believe it. He's a genius!!! :) This year is going to be so fun! We should be getting our license today, so we can advertise and get a few more students. If anybody has a 3 year old ready for preschool bring 'em on by!

Labor Day Weekend Part I

Here's just a glimpse of our fun weekend. Adam's brother came to visit from Utah, so we did lots of fun things. These pics were taken at a park near San Francisco where we ate our lunch. I'll have to do Part II at a later date because we are now in the process of moving from my in-laws house to my parents house. Ugh!! I hate moving!! I also took pics of Wesley on our first day of preschool, so I'll put those up sometime, too.

Maternity Shoot

I finally finished editing the pics from a maternity photo shoot I did. I thought they turned out good, so I wanted to share them with you.
