I don't usually respond to tags, but I thought this one was fun and easy. What you do is go to your 4th picture folder and pick the 4th picture. Mine happened to be a video. It was of the snow in March of this year. It tugged at my heartstrings. I miss Texas an eensy bit--we made such great memories there! And this snow day was one of those fun memories for me. I tag anybody who reads this. Even if you don't post it on your blog; it's just fun to go back and reminisce. You never know where this might take you! :)

An Anniversary Celebration

I can't believe it's been 5 years already! Our anniversary is on December the 6th! We watched Narnia: Prince Caspian and got hot cocoa from Starbucks after Wes went to bed that night. But the real celebration is tomorrow! :) My parents are out of town, so Wes is going to stay with his aunt Holly and cousin Analise. He's excited about his first sleep over and Adam and I are so incredibly excited to sleep in! I don't remember the last time we didn't have to wake up at some point during the night or very early morning with this kid! So HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to us!! Our itinerary includes: the movies, the mall, the temple, dinner out, breakfast out, and sleep--real sleep! Can't wait. Thanks for marrying me 5 years ago, babe!!

A Little Catch Up

I think everyone has to have the title "a little catch up" on their blog at some point and so I guess it's my turn. I did 2 photo shoots in the last few weeks so I wanted to share a few pics. One of these photo shoots came from a random person that found me online! Very exciting!!

This family was a ball full of energy. It was a lot of fun to work with them. We got to the park a little late, so we didn't have much time, but I love the shots that we did get.

I felt so bad for this family. They were going out of town soon, so we didn't have many options with our schedules. It was so cold and the fog was pretty dense, but they were really fun and such great sports!

We're very excited--Adam's door has been open for about a week now. We finally got everything in there and cleaned up to make it look like a semi-professional office. We think it turned out rather nicely. Now bring on the patients! :)

Wesley has been down to 1 binky for the past few months now and that binky has been slightly torn for a little over a month. We've been trying to talk him into getting rid of it, but of course he wasn't into that idea. He's had a love for his binkies since he was born. Well, that slight tear turned into a big tear and Adam and I were worried about the choking hazard, so we cut it today. Adam immediately showed it to Wesley and said it was broken. He proceeded to suck on it for a few minutes until I told him the story of the "binky fairy" and how we could give it to her to give to all the other babies that need one. He instantly put his binky back on his bed and went back to playing. I thought that the issue was over for the day and that we might be able to talk him into getting rid of his binky another day. When I arrived home from work Adam informed me that Wesley did not request his binky, nor did he search for it. He went to sleep without his binky for the first time in about 2 years!! Are we really binky free that easily? Harper and Jaran, just wait, the binky fairy may have a special delivery coming for you! :)

We Must Stand Up For Families

Proposition 8 in California is to define in the constitution that marriage is between MAN and WOMAN only. If this does not pass, then gay couples will have the right to be married. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints does not usually get involved in politics, but this is a truly important issue. If Prop 8 does not pass (this means we must vote YES), then our children will be taught principles that are not conducive to the gospel. Any church that will not change their beliefs to accept gay marriage and that will refuse to marry gay couples will lose tax exemption and can be sued. I could also be sued as a photographer. There have already been cases of photographers, bakers, and such, who have not provided services for gay weddings, where they have been sued and actually lost for discrimination. I just don't understand why we must be forced to believe in gay marriage. If Prop 8 passes it will not be breaking up "families" in any way. Everything will remain as it always has been.
In Massachusetts, where gay marriage is legal, there have been schools that have a "Diversity Day" where each child was taught and sent home a backpack full of books and pamphlets to teach them and their families about gay marriage. Our religion believes that everyone has their own agency to believe and choose what they will, but this Proposition will affect the way I choose to teach my children about others sexual natures. I am tolerant of others beliefs, but they are not tolerant of mine--that is the true equality issue!
Whether you live in California, or not, EVERYONE needs to be aware of these issues. Once this gets past California it will infiltrate itself into every other state in our nation, so please, don't don't keep your mouth shut--if you know anyone in California, talk to them about this. Remember YES on Prop 8! "We will not yield, we CANNOT yield." (Elder W. Craig Zwick Of the Seventy)

Birthday Boy!

I can't believe my baby is 2 years old! It feels like it was not that long ago that I was holding his tiny little hand in mine at the birthing center. He's such a big kid now and he just insists on getting older everyday even after I ask him to stop! That's a 2 year old for ya--never listens! We celebrated his birthday with our families on Sunday. He had a Thomas the Train party with train cake and all, but I haven't had time to edit the photos. Hopefully they will be following this post shortly. As for right now I took these photos about a week ago at my in-laws house. He wouldn't smile for me because he was too anxious to see Grampy!
A few stats on our 2 year old:
He is in love with his Grampy and Grandpa (sorry Grandma's--you just aren't squishy enough!)
He loves anything with wheels--cars, trucks, and especially trains
He loves shoes
His favorite show to watch right now is Mickey Mouse Clubhouse
He is 25.4 lbs and 33 inches tall! He's finally wearing 18 month pants and 2T shirts!
He's still the greatest kid and has the best smile I've ever seen!
We love you Wes! Happy Birthday buddy!

The Great Pumpkin Carver

I have so many other things I need to blog about, but I was so excited about the pics I took tonight of my first carved pumpkin of the season! Wesley loved my pumpkin, too, so much so that he gave him a big squeeze, made his head fall off, and then had to give him kisses to make him feel better!! My Halloween Sweetheart...

And The Ayes Have It!

Well, I guess Complete Care Chiropractic won! Thus will we forever be named. I came up with the name in a moment of inspiration and all along Adam was against it, but he couldn't come up with anything himself. He found the other names from various Chiropractors around the world, so he decided he wanted a vote from the "people" and the "people" picked me. Thank you, thank you!
Enough with the silliness. Family First and Complete Care were our top choices all along, but after the voting we decided Complete Care probably is the best name for us! Thanks to all who voted--it's been fun! We're picking out paint color today and hopefully we'll be completely moved in by Friday. Don't worry I will make sure and have my camera handy for the whole process! We are so excited! Wish us luck!!
